Bioscrypt PIV-Station FIPS 201-compliant as CHUID Reader (Contact and Contactless)

Bioscrypt has released its PIV-Station, a biometric reader designed for use by U.S. Federal organizations. The PIV-Station meets the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) requirements mandated by the Homeland Security Presidential Directive 12 (HSPD-12). The PIV-Station has received GSA approval as a FIPS 201- complaint CHUID Reader (Contact) and CHUID Reader (Contactless). It is the first fixed physical access control reader to be certified in both categories. It is undergoing testing by GSA in the biometric reader category. The PIV-Station also includes a single fingerprint capture device from UPEK. Nearly 3 million federal employees, 6 million state employees and 500,000 contractors will be enrolled in the PIV program.

Key Ovation’s Goldtouch ErgoSecure2.0 Adjustable Smart Card Keyboard has recently met all HSPD-12 hardware requirements specified in the FIPS 201 Evaluation Program. The Goldtouch ErgoSecure2.0 is one of only two keyboards approved on the FIPS 201 list.

SCM now has 13 readers on the GSA FIPS 201 list

The SCR3310v2.0 smart card reader, manufactured by SCM Microsystems, is now on the GSA’s FIPS 201 Approved Product List approving it for purchase by federal agencies under the HSPD-12 program. The new USB reader is capable of being used for a wide range of applications, including: network security, secure logon, email encryption, and remote banking.

CoreStreet's PIVMAN System receives FIPS 201 approval

The PIVMAN System™ has been approved by the US General Services Administration (GSA) as being compliant with the Federal Information Processing Standard 201 (FIPS 201). The PIVMAN System uses the FIPS 201 infrastructure for credential checking and is also fully functional without network connectivity. The system can display accurate information about cardholders from any federal, state or local agency that has issued credentials based on FIPS 201. PIVMAN is the fourth CoreStreet product listed on the Approved Product List.

GSA approves BIO-key algorithms for use in FIPS 201 solutions

Liska Biometry adds image cature platforms and middleware to list of FIPS 201 approved products

Liska Biometry has recently received FIPS 201 approval from the US Federal Government for its suite of DCS5000 image capture platforms that use a standardized digital camera. Also, the Company has received FIPS approval for its Facial Recognition Middleware. The suite is also capable of producing International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) compliant portraits. Liska’s FIPS-approved “Middleware for Facial Recognition” works with all of Liska’s camera environments.

Liska biometry gave a good explanation of what exactly middleware is. “Middleware is the software that organizes the portraits in the correct FIPS format, and ensures that the streaming of all images or transmission of all images is done in the exact same manner. With all FIPS programs there are two portraits (images) that are stored and filed, and therefore, all parties sending and receiving these images need to understand that the format is correct for not only the image but how the images are organized.”
