AVISIAN Publications’ SecureIDNews is pleased to offer digital audio coverage from the GSA-sponsored “Federal HSPD12 Implementation Planning Workshop.” The two-day conference covered issues and advice related to the mandated implementation of advanced ID credentials by federal agencies. Speakers included many of the key agency and industry leaders responsible for the creation of the Personal Identity Verification (PIV) Policy and FIPS 201 documentation in response to HSPD 12.

The U.S. Federal Government’s Smart Card Project Managers meeting was held yesterday in Washington D.C. Presentations centered around the recently approved SP800-73 spec for governmentwide secure credentials. SecureIDNews was approved to record the presentations and make the audio available to our readers. Please let me know (chris@avisian.com) what you think of the broadcasts, as we are considering the addition of a regularly scheduled “podcast” of ID technology-related content such as interviews, tutorials, and event broadcasts.
