The CardMan® 4040 is a smart card reader designed to be inserted into the PCMCIA slot of your laptop. With the same state-of-the-art chip set as our desktop readers, it offers a transmission speed to the card of up to 420 kbps.

The CardMan® 4040 is designed to meet all major standards like ISO 7816, EMV (Europay, Mastercard, Visa) 2000, Microsoft WHQL, PC/SC, HBCI (Home Banking Computer Interface), the PC-2001 specification and many more.
The usage within an application is based on standardized interfaces like PC/SC, CT-API or OCF (Open Card Framework).
