Oberthur on track to deliver over 2 million smart cards in 2011

This year Oberthur Technologies is on track to deliver more than two million smart cards to the U.S. government in 2011, making it the leading supplier of FIPS 201-compliant Personal Identity Verification (PIV) cards for the fifth year running.
Oberthur is a top supplier of smart credentials to the U.S. Federal government, with PIV-based products on the General Services Administration Approved Products List that comply with NIST certifications, including SP 800-73-3 and FIPS 201-2.
As Oberthur upgraded its products to comply with the new FIPS 201-2 standard, its product ranges included compliant functionality based on keys technologies such as On-Card Fingerprint Verification, AES-based secure messaging, Elliptic Curve Cryptographic algorithms, fast data access mechanism and Key history so that users can store up to 20 retired certificates and keys.
