The Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), a science, engineering and technology development company, has announced that they have acquired Atlan Inc., a cybersecurity product testing firm.

Atlan is known for testing for FIPS 201 compliance as well as secure content application protocol. The acquisition of Atlan is a big one for SAIC as these certifications are a prerequisite for government and regulated industries such as financial and health care. Atlan’s employees will join SAIC’s Accredited Testing and Evaluation (AT&E) Laboratories under the company’s Intelligence and Information Solutions Business Unit led by Cox.
